SULLIVAN, IN – March 13, 2014 -- VHGI Holdings, Inc. (OTC PINK: VHGI) (PINKSHEETS: VHGI), a developmental stage company focused on the energy sector, is pleased to announce an initiative to restructure the capitalization of the company with the goal of reducing the company debt and improving the balance sheet, bringing increased shareholder value. The company is in the process of working with its advisors and current debt holders to strengthen VHGI Holdings' balance sheet, thereby establishing a stronger capitalized company to execute on potential business opportunities within the energy sector.
P. Rick Risinger, Chief Executive Officer of VHGI Holdings, commented: "We are very excited about the potential opportunities we see in the energy sector and this restructuring plan would allow us to better position the company to fully benefit from this tremendous industry growth. If we are able to complete such a corporate restructuring, we have many exciting potential opportunities to evaluate as potential acquisitions to VHGI.
VHGI is looking to initiate the restructuring immediately and if successful, it will allow the company to be a platform for acquisition and allow partnering opportunities. During such restructuring, the company will look to divest all of its non-energy related assets and remain focused on securing viable projects within the energy sector.
The company will update shareholders on the progress of this plan and other corporate developments as they occur.
