Interact-TV Incorporated (OTC: ITVI) is pleased to announce that Dead Sara, an emerging rock band signed to Interact’s wholly-owned subsidiary Pocket Kid Records, has been publicly recognized by rock legend Dave Grohl, drummer for multi-platinum recording artist Nirvana as well as founder and frontman for multi-platinum recording artist Foo Fighters.
“Dead Sara should be the next biggest rock band in the world,” said Grohl, whose comments about Dead Sara were broadcast on the music television network Fuse TV.
In support of his own sentiments, Grohl asked Dead Sara to perform at the after-party to the first public screening of “Sound City”, Grohl’s music documentary, at the Sundance Film Festival in January 2013.
“We were floored to hear that kind of statement from someone of that pre-eminence in the field,” said Robert Bryan, President of both Pocket Kid Records as well as Interact-TV. “We took it as an incredible acknowledgement of the creative direction of the band and a sign of things to come. Needless to say, we agree with Mr. Grohl’s sentiments.”
Robert Bryan continued: “Announcing this incredible recognition from someone so highly placed in the current rock music market is part of our ongoing effort, announced recently, to begin a new phase of more open communication with the investing public, which will include, among other things, highlights of the recent achievements made, such as this one, which demonstrate our commitment to increasing the popularity and reach of our artists, as well as the greater value to our shareholders we intend these achievements to produce.”
Grohl’s comments, while some of the more recent accolades for the band, are not the only high-level recognition members of the band have received. In a Wall Street Journal interview conducted in April of 2011, Grace Slick, the former lead singer of Jefferson Airplane and a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee, was asked “Which female rock singers today do you admire?” Ms. Slick’s response included only one name: “Emily Armstrong of Dead Sara. She has a strong, urgent sound.”
The announcement of this more recent recognition from Dave Grohl follows on the heels of a break-out year for Dead Sara, which has now toured with The Used, Bush, Chevelle, The Offspring, and most recently, as the opening act for multi-platinum recording artist Muse. In March 2013, the band appeared as themselves in an episode of The Vampire Diaries, among the two highest-rated programs on The CW Television Network. And in the later part of 2013 Dead Sara also was commissioned to do a cover of Nirvana's "Heart Shaped Box" for the video game "Infamous: Second Son". This version was also featured in the trailer and as the credit song for the video game.
Dead Sara has been working on their second album since the end of 2013 with few appearances, but Pocket Kid Records’ president Robert Bryan stated: "I anticipate I will be making some announcements about Dead Sara's new releases and touring plans shortly".
